Troubleshooting

The AEG FAVORIT 88400 I Dishwasher has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your AEG might be giving you.

The appliance does not fill with water

This issue occurs when the appliance is unable to draw water into the system. Ensure that the water tap is open, the water pressure is adequate, and the water inlet hose is correctly positioned without any kinks or bends. You may also need to clean the filter in the water inlet hose or the water tap if clogged or affected by limescale.

The appliance does not drain the water

This problem arises when the appliance cannot expel water after a wash cycle. Check and clean the sink spigot if it is clogged. Ensure that the water drain hose is free from any kinks or bends that could obstruct water flow.

The anti-flood device is on

This indicates that there are water leakages within the appliance, triggering the anti-flood mechanism. Immediately close the water tap and contact the service department for further assistance to prevent potential water damage.

Before installation and use, read the supplied instructions carefully. The manufacturer is not responsible for injuries or damages due to incorrect installation and use. Use the appliance in a household environment only and do not alter its specifications.

Before First Use

Adjust the water softener according to local water hardness. Fill the salt container with 1 litre of water (only initially) and then with dishwasher salt. Fill the rinse aid dispenser as needed.

Setting and Starting a Programme

The appliance must be in setting mode to accept operations. All programme indicators come on when in setting mode. Select appropriate programme settings for load type and soil level.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your AEG Dishwasher.

Regular Cleaning of Filters

Make sure to regularly check and clean the filters. Dirty or clogged filters can decrease washing results. Ensure they are correctly assembled and installed to prevent damage and to maintain optimal performance.

Check and Clean Spray Arms

Inspect the spray arms for any clogs. If holes in the spray arms are clogged, use a thin pointed object to remove any remaining soil. This helps maintain effective water spray and cleaning results.

Use Appropriate Detergents

Only use neutral detergents. Avoid using abrasive products, cleaning pads, or solvents as they can damage the appliance.

Adjust Detergent Quantity

Ensure you are using the correct quantity of detergent according to the instructions on the detergent packaging. Overuse can lead to residues on dishes, especially with short wash programs.

Check Water Supply

Ensure the water tap is open and the water pressure is adequate. Regularly clean the water tap to prevent limescale buildup, and check the water inlet hose for any kinks or bends.
